PHOTOGRAPH: CHILDREN IN CLASSROOM
c. 1900The original black and white image shows a classroom full of seated children. The children are sitting in desks, two by two, with their hands pulled down and held behind their backs. The boys wear suits, some with lace collars and the girls wear dresses. There are various pictures on the walls behind them above their heads. These include three blackboards with botanical drawings on them and a fourth blackboard with the figures of Jack and Jill. Above these are several copies of Old Masters.
