Overview

Mary Dalton was born in Boulder in 1931. At the age of 6, after her father became ill with Silicosis, she was taken away from her family and placed at St Josephs Orphanage in Subiaco. She would stay at St Joseph’s until she was 18 years of age. She talks of her experiences being brought up in the orphanage, discussing the treatment that she experienced and the education she would receive. Mary has lived in Subiaco for over forty years and she talks about the changes that she has seen in the suburb changing from its working class roots to the boutique nature it currently holds.
