Overview

Black Rexine hard cover. The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments. Inside front cover is a collect to be used before reading the Holy Scriptures. Collect for the Second Sunday in Advent. Written on next page 'To Mrs Young from Mrs Meade'. On the next page is written 'Mary Youngs Bible a gift from her Grandmother August 16th 1868. On next page is written 'Mary Youngs Bibel (sic) a gift from her Grandmother March 1st 1868'. At back of book is a handwritten list of family of father David Young born 25th Nov. 1825 and mother Margaret born 30th Dec. 1828, married on 23rd Jan. 1851, and children Elizabeth Young born 17th Jan 1852 at Albany. .... up to David Young born 22nd Aug. 1868. On next page is handwritten list of family of 5th Young child Mary Drysdale Young born 3rd Jan. 1860 who married Thomas Knapp born 15th Sept 1861 and children Ethel Dorcas Knapp up to ....to Thomas Drysdale Knapp born 15th Nov 1896. In between pages is a torn copy of the family register of David and Margaret Young.
