Uniform Accoutrements Issued Boots - Black Ammo Boots from 1950
These boots were the previous 1942 pattern of issued boots but blackened or dyed black. The first unit authorised to wear them was 2 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment in Puckapunyal. 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment on arrival in Korea continued to wear their brown boots that they had worn with the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) until they could receive the blackened version.
