1936 - 1951Collection of photos relating to Alpine Parlour Cars: (a) An early taxi operated by Bluebird Motor Coach Service, a foundation member of the Metropolitan Omnibus Company. Traveled Perth to Fremantle. Advertising Plume Motor Spirit and Gargoyle Mobiloil. (b) An early Red Reo Char-A-Banc Service Ltd. Bus. Pre Metro - ran Perth/Fremantle Rd. A door at the front and a centre aisle have replaced the side loading doors of earlier vehicles and glazed windows have been fitted. (c) A parlour car with marque 'Reo Safey Bus' on a later style of bonnet. (d) Bluebird Motor Coach Service - 10-14 seater, separate doors and running board.
Originated from taxi drivers who operated on the Perth-Fremantle route in competition with the Railway.
