This book was planned in consultation with the Executive Committee of the Bee-keepers' Section, Farmers' Union of W.A. and five years to this publication. It was found that there were many aspects on which fundamental research was needed. The region covered by this guide is the southern part of the State of W.A., having an average annual rainfall of more than 9 inches, and in which is concentrated all commercial honey production.
