Iron with twisted handle.
Base is made of cast iron and has stamped on top the makers name 'CANNON'.
The handle is made from wrought iron and heat welded to the base into holes in the base casting.
The iron is described as a Tailor's Goose iron.
Part of the museum collection since the early 1960s.

A type of flat iron or sad iron named for the goose-like curve in its neck, and (in the case of "tailor's goose") its usage by tailors.
There were three tailors in the Toodyay district during the 1860s.
