1956The image shows Sir Charles Gairdner speaking at the foundation stone ceremony for the Subiaco City Hall in November 1956. He is standing on a timber platform with a small table in front of him on which there is a lectern with a microphone to the left. Behind him on the left can be seen scaffolding supporting a partly constructed wall, with many trees in the background. Behind Sir Charles are rows of seated people listening to his address. Written on the back of the photograph: 'Laying of Foundation Stone Ceremony City Hall 17 November 1956. Sir Charles Gairdner speaking.' The Hall was completed in 1957. Partner to P85_609 and 610.
