Frontis: engraving 'Song of Hiawatha' 703 pages, illustrated. Pasted into the front endpaper is a letter, on the left-hand side, are the names J.P Gillam Married to Flo Toovey 12th March 1885. Presented to Flo Lilford 23rd Aug. 1933. A green 1-penny stamp is affixed to the paper. At the bottom of the page in biro Florance D. Woolcott 1 McKinzie Street, Albany. On the right-hand side reads 'Cranbrook 23rd Aug. 1933. This book was presented by me to my sweetheart Flo. Two months before our marriage. I am now again, after a lapse of fifty years, presenting it to my Dearest Little Grand daughter Flo with my fondest love and every wish for her happiness through life. Father John'.
