Statement of significance

Souvenir Programme for the opening ceremony for City of Armadale's Minnawarra Historic Precinct in 1988. The opening was a celebration of community action in saving two historically significant local buildings; the first school building in Armadale and the first church built in Armadale. Both buildings had been earmarked for demolition but community efforts saw then both saved. The church had been demolished but the community group was able to salvage all of the materials and rebuild it next to History House. The school building was moved on the back of a truck to the same location.
