Eight hand written pages of an interview of Mrs William Quartermaine nee Hawkins by Mrs Mort Beeck. There is also a typed translation of the interview.

Historical information

Sarah Hawkins married William Frederick Quartermaine in 1887. These eight pages are a short biography of Sarah Quartermaine nee Hawkins, including that her first teacher was a Mr F.H. Piesse at the Williams when she was residing in Mr Mongers household. It also mentions that William Quartermaine for a period of twelve months was working as a teamster between Kurnalpi and Kanowna. Sarah also indicated that two of her sons were mentioned in dispatches.
