Overview

During this interview Kevin James Jackson talks of the origins of the family business ‘Jackson’s Drawing Supplies’, while describing the significant changes that the business has experienced. Jackson’s Drawing Supplies began operating at 103 Rokeby Road Subiaco in 1962. Kevin speaks in detail of how the business has diversified and changed amid the modern world of overseas competition and the advent of the internet. He looks at the development of Subiaco since the 1960s, paying some attention to how he sees support of local business from the Subiaco Council. Kevin has been a long term resident of Subiaco since childhood and has been a business operator for over 45 years. By drawing attention to his passion for the suburb and how he would like to see it develop, he speaks volumes about the changes that have taken place in the ever changing community of the Subiaco.
