Red linen hard cover with faded gold lettering on spine. Has extra cover of brown paper with the title spelt incorrectly. 515 pages, illustrated. Frontis: Portrait of Charles Dickens, and his signature(copy). Title page reads: the Personal History of David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. The preface states - The foregoing remarks are what I originally wrote, under the head of Preface to the Personal History of David Copperiled. I have nothing to add to them, at this time. June 1858.
