Don't Ask Imagine
Surrealist image. A wooden table in a dark brown coloured room with various items on it including a beaker, an orange arum lily. Above the table is a lamp and a poscket watch. An orange gold fish floats through the glassless window opening. Artist Statement If words were scattered at random on a table, anybody asked to make sense of them would, more than likely, make up sentences or paragraphs. The next person asked would do the same but their sentences or paragraphs would probably be completely different in meaning from the first person, and so on. The title of the painting invites each viewer to use their imagination as to the meaning of the work. I find it fascinating to think that there will probably be as many meanings as there are viewers.
