SCARLET PERCHER Dragonfly - Kenwick Bus Shelter
2010The artwork is an artist-designed bus shelter featuring decorative perforated panels that form the primary artistic element, a dragon fly. The panels incorporate an intricate pattern of organic and geometric shapes, creating a layered visual effect that filters light and views through the structure.
The artwork is integrated into a contemporary shelter constructed from metal framing, with the patterned screens adding texture, shadow and visual interest while contrasting with the surrounding streetscape and mature trees.
Created by Si Hummerston as part of the Kenwick Village Upgrades.
This project was officially opened by Mayor Dave Griffiths 24 Nov 2011 in the presence of the Minister for Planning John Day
