Female Relative Badge World War 2
The circular badge contained a map of Australia within a circle of laurel leaves, surrounded by the words “To the Women of Australia” surrounded in turn by a wreath of laurel all surmounted by a Tudor crown. Stars on the bar suspended below the badge represented the number of relatives involved in the war effort.
For service abroad during World War 2, a badge was issued to the nearest female relative of members of the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Imperial Force (including the Australian Army Nursing Service) and the Royal Australian Air Force.
