This photo shows Aubrey John Akrill BECKLEY, better known as Jack seated in front of an Artillery Gun with 6 other soldiers. Jack is on the far right and the 3 soldiers seated in front are each holding a artillery shell. Jack enlisted in the AIF on the 24/06/1915, age 27 years, with the 28th Battalion 2nd Reinforcement. He attained the rank of Sergeant. On the 3/11/1916, while serving in France, Jack was wounded in action, (gun shot wound to his right thigh). He was admitted to hospital in England
