SCORECARD - MEN CIRCA 1983
c. 1983This scorecard is for "Members" (Men).
It has been determined as being applicable in circa 1983.
The card is the first to feature both a Short (A.C.R. 70) and Medal (A.C.R. 73) length course on the card. This concept was introduced during Max Hannah's Captaincy period 1981 - 1983. This is supported by a statement dated 22/3/83 in the AGM minutes “New scorecards have been designed for the long and short courses. The short course will be used for most events, long course for major events, tournaments, pennants and Saturday medal rounds. The W.A.G.A. are to rerate the short course.”
The Match Play index table is absent with a statement “as for stroke play” instead.
Several cards in the archive feature the same distinctive front cover; a stylised picture featuring a tree, grass tree and kangaroo completed using green coloured text and pictures on a yellow background.
This card's matt finish and square corners suggest an earlier applicable date. In addition, is has seven Local Rules printed on the rear compared to eight on the others.
