Council Challenge

The Council Challenge was a brief attempt to formalise the series of golf matches played between teams representing the Melville City Council and MGGC. Just two event results are recorded on the trophy.

 

However, the Council of Management minutes reference the 'Annual Council Match'  from the early 1970s into the early 1980s. Some also mention 'refreshments and supper provided after'. These matches obviously reflect the respect that the club and Council held for each other in the earlier years of the club's existence.
