GRANT, Benjaman (Ben)
Ben Grant joined MGGC in 1969 when the club first commenced the playing of golf. He remained at the club for a further 43 years until his retirement in 2012 at the age of 65.
He was appointed acting Head Greenkeeper on 27/8/1974. At that time he was an Assistant Greenkeeper. On 23/8/1974 he was formally offered the Head Greenkeeper's position on a trial period of 6 months.
His long service was recognised by the club on a testimonial day during the last year of his service and was awarded the Clubs WA Employee of the Year Award that same year. Details of the respect the club had for Ben and the details of these honours appear in the attachments.
