After the First World War, there was much community discussion about whether to build a statute or to build a hall which the whole community could utilise.
In the end the issue was resolved by referendum and the Memorial Hall was built. Construction on the hall began in 1925 and the foundation stone was laid by John Gordon Finlay on the 11 November 1925, and the hall was officially opened by Major-General Sir JJ Talbot-Hobbs CMG, KCMC, VD on Friday 20 August 1926.
The architect was F.J. Coote and the builder was Alex Thomson, a builder from Katanning.
The Returned Services League (RSL) and the community energetically began fund raising.
Items in this collection are objects, photographs and documents associated with the Memorial or activities that were held in the Hall.
