Overview

Metallic cylinder with a lid on the top which one turns to open the base.
The freezer is painted white, all accept an oval-shaped section on which appears the wording auto vacuum ice cream freezer (in large print).
Beneath this appears (in smaller print) (TRADEMARK) Auto Vacuum Freezer Co. Inc. New York. In a smaller font is: Patented U.S.A. Jan.2, 12-Oct, '23.

Contextual Information

For making ice-cream - the ice-cream ingredients were placed in the top opening chamber and then ice and salt were packed in the hollow wall around the chamber through the bottom opening. Ingredients were then mixed and frozen while driving on the typical bumpy roads of the day. It was promoted as only taking 45 minutes for ice-cream to be made. "without tiresome turning, cranking or other manipulations."
