Katanning Flour Mill
c. 1891This is a sepia picture of a three-storey brick building. The building has four windows on the side view of each floor. At the front of the building is a balcony and verandah and above the balcony is a window, a door and another window. There is a picket fence which runs on both sides of the front of the building. There is a smaller brick building on the right of the larger building and sheds in the background.
There is a crowd of people against the picket fence on the left and on the verandah of the building. The men on the verandah are dressed in suits and ties, the women are dressed in long sleeved blouses and long skirts. In the doorways above the balcony are two men in each doorway.
At the top front of the building is a flag pole which is flying the Australian flag.
The fascia on the side of the building at the top reads “ESTABLISHED 1891 KATANNING ROLLER FLOUR MILL”. There are palm leaves either side of this fascia.
