Overview

Black and white photograph of Winterbottoms Assembly works, a Jolimont factory situated between Tighe and Bishop Streets.The factory is built of aluminium. Four cars and one utility are parked by the factory with several more in the distance. The factory roof is curved. The words WINTERBOTTOMS ASSEMBLY WORKS FROM TIGHE ST. are written across the upper section of the photograph.

Historical information

Building contractor R.J.Davies, who lived at 12 Willcock Av. Daglish, built factories including the aluminium Winterbottoms Assembly works in Jolimont. He kept a photographic record of his building career. The office and workshops of R J DAVIES PTY. LTD. were near the Salvado Road end of Bishop Street, Jolimont.
