SCRIMSHAW (FLAGS PLUS BUST)
Etched whale tooth depicting regal scene. A bust on a pedestal is backed by two British flags. Swords, arms etc at each side of pedestal. British coat of arms at top. Letters 'G.G.' on pedestal base.
The practice of scrimshaw was common among sailors who used the long hours at sea to create artwork from the byproducts of their hunt.
