Mrs Morrison, wearing a dark dress, is seated in a cane chair holding baby Ailsa who is wearing a copious baby gown with smock stitching across the bodice. Mr Morrison is on the left of the group and straddles his chair. He wears pin-striped trousers, a dark jacket, stiff formal collar and cravat with a pearl pin.
