Front: Photograph of a procession of firemen trundling the reel on its huge wheels. A banner reading 'Subiaco Fire Brigade' has been attached to the unit. The firemen are walking along the road followed by interested parties of boys and men. Two men watch from the pavement. The road appears unsealed, but tram lines have been set down. The photograph has been stuck onto a postcard. Handwritten in green ink on the left side of the photograph, 'Walter Richardson in uniform'.
Reverse:The reverse side shows two scenes. The upper one features men in striped jerseys in yachts, a black swan clearly showing on the main sail of the one in the foreground. The picture is titled, 'Yachting , Swan River' The picture underneath is titled, 'Rowing , Swan River' and shows several rowing boats and their crews on the water.
