This banquet was held on the Occasion of the turning of the first sod of the Great Southern Railway 20th October 1886. From the special reporter by Electric Telegraph ( Reprinted from the Inquirer). This report was presented by Alex Thomson M.L.C. President of the Historical Society Katanning on 10/3/1947.
