Painting depicting several bird-of-paradise flowers arranged against a vivid purple background. The composition contains four prominent flower heads emerging from a dense cluster of upright leaves. Each flower consists of bright orange lance-shaped petals radiating outward from white and blue floral structures. Long, slender blue projections extend from the flowers, creating dynamic diagonal lines throughout the composition.
Dark green leaves occupy the lower half of the image and rise vertically behind the flowers. The leaves are elongated, oval-shaped and prominently veined, with highlights emphasising their glossy surface. Additional green stems and foliage are interwoven among the flowers.
The background is rendered in rich shades of purple and violet with visible brushstrokes creating a textured, painterly effect. The strong contrast between the purple background and the orange flowers makes the floral forms stand out prominently. Colours throughout the work include purple, violet, orange, yellow-orange, white, blue, dark green and black-green.
The composition is vertically orientated and has a decorative, expressive style characterised by bold colour contrasts, textured paint application and simplified botanical forms.
