World War One Munitions comic postcard 2

c. 1915
Overview

Colourful comic postcard created by artists M. Knight and A.E. Kennedy relating to workers in munitions factories during World War One. A boggle-eyed dog wearing a white dress with buttons down the front is talking to a smaller dog wearing a blue bow.
The small dog asks 'Do you work in shifts?' to which the taller dog replies 'No, we wear overalls'. The dog in the dress has a munitions shell at her feet.
The postcard is one of a series of humorous postcards published by C.W. Faulkner & Co. Ltd of London.

Historical information

Pun on the word 'shift' meaning both a set period of work designed to maintain continuous production (important during wartime) and a woman's under-garment.
