Photograph in original frame appears to have come into the museum collection between 1983 and Sept. 2000.
In around October 2002 the photos were sent to be conserved and reframed for an exhibition titled "Toodyay - the Leeder Connection" held at the Toodyay Visitors Centre between Oct 8 - Nov 14, 2002.

Contextual Information

William George Leeder (1845-1906) was the mayor of Newcastle, Western Australia several times between 1878 and 1899.
He was born 6 March 1845, the eldest son of William Henry Leeder, after whom the Perth suburb of Leederville was named, and married Hannah Emily Morrell (companion portrait acc. no. 2001.738) on 22 November 1866.
He died in Toodyay on 27 August 1906.
