The CWA Seaside Home at Dongara was officially opened on the 9th December 1939.
In the December 1939 publication of the Countrywoman, in the Quarterly Report from Northern Division by Frances E Howard (Mrs Howard is not listed as a President of Northern Division), it was decided to invite the State President Mrs Leslie Craig to open the seaside home at Dongara. The opening was to be on the 9th December and the Secretary was instructed from the meeting to issue invitations to the opening ceremony and the dance that followed. Branches were also asked to make an effort to bring donations of money towards the home on the opening day.
