World War 2 - Wireless Set Army Military Radio ZC1 Remote Control Unit
This Remote Control Unit for designed for use with Wireless Set ZC.1, Mk II. The unit consists of a green metal box with a lift up lid which is hinged at the back. Once the lid is up, it has its own aluminium angled stay to keep it open. Inside, on the left, is a metal Morse key with a round bakelite button for the operator. Below that is a microphone input jack and on the right are two "Phones" jacks. In the centre is a "Call" push-button flanked by two switches. Under the lid are a set of user instructions printed in gold lettering on a black metal plate riveted into the underside of the lid.

This remote control is in the Communications Gallery commissioned by the Australian Army Museum of Western Australia as part of the Centenary commemorations of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. Communication devices used by the Australian Army also are presented in their operational context throughout the Museum.
