Inscriptions and markings

On the front of the cover is stamped in black lettering is "Pay-Book No. 84774", below this stamped in black lettering is "Surname" and handwritten in faded pencil "Tylor", then "Christian Names" and handwritten in faded pencil "H.W.A.". Underneath this line stamped in black lettering "Regn No." and handwritten in faded pencil "1381", followed by "Unit" in black lettering and then in faded pencil "7th Div".

In the middle of the cover stamped in black lettering is "AUSTRALIAN" then the rising sun symbol followed by "IMPERIAL" and underneath the rising sun symbol is "FORCE". Underneath this line stamped in black lettering is "SOLDIER'S PAY BOOK".

The bottom line in stamped in black lettering is "Well & Co. Ltd. London"
