Overview

A small boy, bare-footed and wearing shorts is applying a hose to a barbecue made from half a 44 gallon drum. It is on a lawn area bounded by an open picket fence and duck or 'chook' yard made from corrugated iron sheets and wire netting. All is overhung by a spreading tree.

Historical information

Keith Henneker was born in Cottesloe in 1959. Son of Constable David William Henneker and Dorothy Henneker (nee McColl). As a child, lived at the police quarters at 66 Victoria Avenue, Claremont (now the Claremont Museum).
