Rectangular faded brown A4 size sheet of paper glued onto a backboard, tattered around the edges.
It has text in black advertising the [BEDFORDALE / AGRICULTURAL AND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY / SEVENTH / ANNUAL SHOW] which was held in the Institute Hall, Armadale, on Saturday the 16th of April, 1910. Along with various activities, entertainments and a price list.
It also has text on the back in blue biro [Bert Wright / 36 Bertram St / Maddington / W.A.].

Historical information

This flyer advertised the 7th Bedfordale Agricultural and Horticultural Annual Show held in the Armadale Mechanics Institute. Agriculture was the first industry to be attempted in 1830. It boomed in the late 1800s following an influx of people and money both to Western Australia and the local area along with the completion of the Perth to Bunbury Railway line which passed through Kelmscott and Armadale.
Agriculture played an important role in the development of the townsite of Bedfordale which was gazetted in 1905.
The early development of the agricultural and horticultural industry in the Bedfordale area which had only been gazetted a town in 1905.
Agricultural and horticultural societies began to appear in the district in the late 1800s and played an important role in showcasing the produce of the district as well as being an important local social event.

This object is part of a collection of items relating to the people, businesses and organisations who played a role in the early development of the City of Armadale since 1829. Following the establishment of the town of Kelmscott in 1830 the district has undergone a series of economic and population booms and busts. This collection tells the story of those who have played a important to significant part of the economic and social development and history of the City of Armadale.
