Sepia studio portrait shows the family group with three women seated in front of five men, with Mr. Jones at left side of image. Two of the men appear in military uniform Mrs Elizabeth Jones, wife of John Rowland Jones, with her children: Bowen Bourke, Arthur Llewellyn, John (Jack) Ambrose, Fred Aloysius, Francis (Frank) Herbert Avonia (Noni) Agnes, Eva Amy Margaret.

The Jones family home, sometimes called 'Jones's folly', was at 375 Roberts Road, Subiaco. It was the first European family home built in Subiaco.
