World war 1, Stretcher Bearer Canteen and Cup
1914 - 1918This form of canteen or water bottle was carried by stretcher bearers in the Field Ambulance. Wounded soldiers unable to hold or drink from the canteen could receive a controlled drink from the cup. The canteen itself was similar to the standard issue canteen being a blue enamel water bottle covered with a sewn felt cover and held in various patterns of carriers and slings.
