World war 1, Stretcher Bearer Canteen and Cup
This form of canteen or water bottle was carried by stretcher bearers in the Field Ambulance. Wounded soldiers unable to hold or drink from the canteen could receive a controlled drink from the cup. The canteen itself was similar to the standard issue canteen being a blue enamel water bottle covered with a sewn felt cover and held in various patterns of carriers and slings.
