SCHOOL DESK, INKWELL & SLATES
1870 - 1900a) School desk: Timber desk top with cast iron side frames with hinged side lid supports. No visible signs of damage appears complete. Framework showing signs of rust but no corrosion.Two inkwells to rear of desk top, one central, one to right hand side. Groove runs the width of the desk top to rear of inkwells to accommodate pencils.Timber in good condition, no one has carved their name in the top. Height apporx.58cm width approx 90cm, depth approx 40cm Timber possibly jarrah
b) inkwell; white ceramic with curved sides narrowing to the base.
c) Slate, wooden frame, lined slate, missing slate section top right corner. Frame has "Whitfield" and small symbol printed on one side one side lined for music.
d) Slate, wooden frame, with makers name.
Desk thought to have come from the Toodyay Convent School.
