Button Hook

Historical information

A buttonhook is a tool used to close shoes, gloves or other clothes that use buttons as fasteners. It is a steel hook with an extended handle which may be simple or decorative. To use, the hook is pushed through the button hole to where it would hook a button and be pulled back through the hole.
