Perenjori, Western Australia, Australia - 001

1989
Overview

This site of badly degraded and reconstructed soil poses another problem - there is very little to start from. Even the debris of previous vegetation has been burnt or destroyed. The soil animal count was less than ninety thousand per kilogram of soil. The plusses are that it is not completely dead. With careful manipulation when the water and oxygen balances have been restored the skillful rejuvenator may be pleasantly rewarded. In this situation, the trees have all died. It is a challenge. The position of this site is approximately eighteen kilometres south-east of Perenjori.
