Studio Photograph of Constance Hicks

This photograph is possibly of Constance Hicks, who was a school teacher at Beaconsfield in 1900, and who married James Strickland at Greenbushes in 1913.

On front "Lovingly yours, Constance".
On rear, postcard addressed to Miss May Duncan, Greenough. "4 ock. I forgot whether I owe you a letter. However write to us soon & tell us all the news like a darling. Am trying for a transfer - you know why. Fondest love to all, Connie Hicks."
More research is required as to why this photograph is in the Morrell collection. There is uncertainty as to who May Duncan is, possibly she is referring to May Isobel Morrell (whose mother was a Duncan), and who would have been a trainee school teacher much the same time as Constance.
