NECKLACE: PEARL IRRIDECENT SHELLS
c. 1900Necklace of tiny white iridescent shells threaded together. Shells are rare Maireener Tasmanian shells. The creation of these necklaces is an Indigenous Tasmanian tradition, a cultural practice that dates back hundreds of years.
These beautiful tiny iridescent shells have been collected by Tasmanian Aboriginal women for many many generations.
