HMAS Perth II Depth Sounder

Overview

A chipped black painted faced with curved dial and white on/off knob rectangular box. It has a small curved shield over top edge and halfway down the front sides, with two cords from the bottom of the box. An oval manufacturers logo is featured in the centre of the face. On the rear is two (2) slide latches with unit details.

Contextual information

HMAS Perth (II) was decommissioned in October 1999 and gifted to the City of Albany for a recreational dive wreck; being scuttled on 24 November 2001. Prior to the scuttling, the City removed objects as part of preparing an ‘on-shore’ interpretive centre as per the agreement conditions by the State Government of Western Australia.
