Overview

Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by JD (Jim) McGregor.

Comments: Main problem area north of the road is complicated by large masses of ironstone, impossible to dig out for a bank, have concentrated on picking up water where it leaves the rocky areas and affects the better soils. All are grade banks, some with considerable fall to be feasible. Banks 1 and 2 are 1981 work. 3, 4, 5 and 6 are 1982. Number 6 picks up the creek and takes on direct route to Kalgan River. Most peculiar site I have worked on, large bodies of water upslope disappear into deeper systems. Some seem to reappear down near the river with considerable seepage.

Review Comments: I am glad that I didn't have to work it out and lay plan.
