Overview

This black and white copy of a photograph shows the corner of Coghlan Road and Hay Street, Subiaco, with houses and the grocery store of M.W. Kavanagh, which has a house at the rear on the east side of the shop. There is a large advertisement painted on the side of the shop in clear detail, as well as on the side of the verandah. There is a vacant block adjacent to the shop with trees and shrubs.
In the image, tramlines are evident running along Hay Street in front of the shop. A number of electric light posts are at the edge of the footpath and there is a street lamp at the forefront to the left of the photograph. Houses and trees are featured in the background looking towards the west.
