Margaret Hodgson (nee Spencer) grew up at Boolading (Bulading) on a farm with parents Jack and Ida Spencer. Jack’s father Herbert Spencer was one of the early settlers in the Boolading/Bulading area.
Margaret’s mother, Ida Spencer was a very prominent member of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) and eventually became National President of the organisation. Margaret talks about her grandfather, parents and her time in growing up in Darkan, including her schooling at Darkan school, working in the Shire, and Junior farmers
