Around the edges of the picture in gold lettering is "THOUGH LOST TO SIGHT TO MEMORY DEAR" and on the scroll is "IN LOVING MEMORY OF " and below the picture is "My Dear Wife Ellen Agnes McKenna Who Died on August 18. 1903 Aged 45 Years" and below this the following phrase "We miss thee from our home, dear mother, We miss thee from thy place, A shadow o'er our life is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face, We miss thy kind and willing hand, Thy fond and earnest care, Our home is dark without thee - We miss thee everywhere."
