Overview

Blue and white postcard from the 'Greetings from Subiaco' series, featuring a photograph of the Nedlands foreshore taken from the pier. A small craft called 'Success' is moored to the side of the jetty and a boat shed appears in the centre of the image joined to the pier by a jetty.

In the background there is some detail of the buildings in the background, including the Nedlands hotel. The image also shows an extensive area of bushland along the foreshore.

This postcard is significant as part of the 'Greetings from Subiaco' postcard series, and for recording aspects of the Swan River and Nedlands Foreshore, which once fell within Subiaco's boundaries.

On the reverse is written: NEDLANDS JETTY / NATIONAL PARKS / BOARD'. There is also in the top LH corner written 'NED / 579'. All written in pencil.

This part of the Swan River once belonged within the City of Subiaco's boundaries.

William Cadman developed this postcard series to sell in his Subiaco newsagent business.
