PROPOSED GOVERNANCE CHANGES

Overview

During 2025 the club's Board of Management were progressing with proposed changes to modernise the club's governance structure. As part of the changes members were invited to provide feedback on the information delivered by club President Mark Bonser and other Directors. The attached documentation and events relate to this process:

1. June 2025

The President posted a three page communication document on the club's website. Headings in the document include:

  • Empower Senior Staff
  • Reduce the main advisory Management committees to four
  • Some Common Questions and Answers

The content references a document from Golf Business Advisory Services titled '2024 Golf Club Governance Report' which has been published and can be searched for on the MGGC history archive. (Item 2025.33)

2. 1 July 2025

A member's forum was conducted at the clubrooms to provide follow up information. This consisted of a presentation by the President followed by a question and answer session for those who attended. Headings in the presentation include:
